US Automakers try to salvage the US Auto Industry by joining F1
February 26, 2009

Despite the economic turmoil the American Auto industry is suffering as of the moment, founders of the American Formula One team are resilient that the F1 team would be doing well. Peter Windsor and Ken Anderson the two people responsible for the new F1 team stated that the formula 1 cars would be built in North Carolina and would be driven by American drivers. Peter Windsor and Ken Anderson also confirmed they have the finance needs in place and that F1 President Bernie Ecclestone has given them his blessing.
Danica Patrick the only female driver in NASCAR, has continuously been linked with a drivers slot in the new USF1 team. F1 has its fair share of championship history in North America and have Phil Hill and Mario Andretti to thank. What is just confusing is that Formula 1 races in America and Canada have recently been removed from the F1 calendar and as of the moment there are no US or Canadian drivers competing in the Formula One Championships.
Danica Patrick is the first woman to compete in the NASCAR Indy Car series in the US along side former Torro Rosso driver Scott Speed, and Andretti’s grandson 21 year old Marco Andretti. Ken Anderson said that Danica Patrick would be a very lucrative pick and would generate the most interest for USF1 and is optimistic that the 26 year old driver would be proud of becoming the sixth female F1 driver.
“Danica’s great, she gets a lot of press,” Ken Anderson said. “Indy Car Series boss Tony George would probably be pretty mad with me if I took her out of the, but we’ll see.”
Sports rumors like this are common in the industry yet it looks like viable information since Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor are the two noteworthy names in the world of racing.
Without any proper introduction or any called press PRESS conferences, the rumour of having a US Formula 1 team is already generating interest in both the sporting and the economic scene.
“I told Bernie Ecclestone about this in Brazil 2006, and he just said, ‘great, get it done’,” Peter Windsor said “He has kept in touch ever since and has always been supportive.”
For the Motor Sports Betting Community, what else would I recommend once this all becomes reality, nothing more than to stay away from the USF1 team with your wagers. We all know that the US Auto Industry is in its darkest years, but based on most of the US made cars, they are just gas guzzlers compared to same size engines made my European Auto makers like BMW or Japanese engineered power plants from TOYOTA.
