Is Shane Mosley next for Floyd Mayweather Jr?

Mayweather proved over the weekend that he’s still the best when he dominated Juan Manuel Marquez for the full 12-round fight.

It was a display of greatness as Floyd Mayweather Jr., despite the two-year absence from the ring, showed just how good he still is by simply dominating Juan Manuel Marquez at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas last Saturday.

In the Floyd Mayweather Jr. – Juan Manuel Marquez fight last weekend, Mayweather proved why he is still considered by many as the best, pound for pound fighter in the world as he extended his undefeated record to an astounding 40-0. Wow.

And while Manny Pacquiao and his fans have unofficially claimed that title for themselves, (go figure…) Mayweather accomplished something last Saturday that Pacquiao was unable to in two attempts, earn a convincing win over Marquez after winning the bout via unanimous decision.

You see, Juan Manuel Marquez is Pacquiao’s kryptonite. For some reason, Marquez has been that one guy who can take everything Pacquiao throws. Marquez showed just that in his first meeting with Pacquiao when he recovered from the early knock down to ALMOST win it. The fight ended with a controversial draw although I personally thought Marquez should’ve won it.

Mayweather, on the other hand, didn’t give Marquez any opportunity to steal the fight last Saturday. We saw the classic Money Mayweather we’ve seen in the past, dancing around the ring to confuse and frustrate his opponent. And oh yeah, Marquez was frustrated alright because all that piss he drank to prepare for this fight turned out to be for nothing.

And since Mayweather is once again at the top of the food chain, everybody will start gunning for him.

Heck, it already started the moment Michael Buffer was finished announcing Mayweather the victor. Sugar Shane Mosley went up the ring to verbally challenge Mayweather into a pay per view fight right after Mayweather earned a unanimous decision over Marquez.

Yep, Sugar Shane didn’t even let Mayweather enjoy his successful comeback fight.

And I’ve also heard that Manny Pacquiao and his fans wanna’ see their boy get destroyed by Mayweather as well. Apparently, Pacquiao thinks he has already earned the title of the best pound for pound fighter in the world by beating up a few guys who are already retiring from the sport.

Of course, he ain’t shit until he proves he is really the best, pound for pound and right know, that distinction belongs to Money Mayweather.

And what’s even funnier is the possibility that Miguel Cotto can fuck Manny Pacquiao up in a couple of months even before Pacquiao’s people can get a crack at Mayweather.

Can Miguel Cotto beat Manny Pacquiao? Bodog sportsbook has the odds.

Manny Pacquiao 1.38

Miguel Cotto 3.05

  1. Boxing is just like the WWF, made-up. I saw the fight, yes he won by decision, a cream would have been a clear knockout, did not happen. Floyd Mayweather maybe the best boxer of all time to beat up on washed up fighters. So Floyd Mayweather, did not make the weight for the fight (where is the honor in that), so he heavier than the weight class that he is fighting in, and his opponent was older, shorter and weigh less. Are we impressed that he won, what a charade. Had we seen him come back and defeat Pacman, Cotto, Mosley or Margarito, then maybe he would deserve our attention, till then, snore, snore. Now we find out that this piece of work owes our government millions of dollars. Why should we believe this guy? I guess the rumors are true that he did everything to avoid fighting Antonio Margarito, before his unexpected first retirement, chicken.
