Is Brock Lesnar done in the UFC?

November 21, 2009

brock_lesnarThat’s the word from UFC president Dana White.

The current UFC heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar, was suppose to headline this Saturday’s UFC 106 against Shane Carwin for the title. Instead, Lesnar suffered some sort of injury and White had to reschedule the title fight.

As it turns out, the injury to Brock Lesnar was more serious than previously reported. The UFC heavyweight champion is in a hospital in North Dakota and according to White, Lesnar is in rough shape and he’s not getting any better.

”He’s in rough shape, he’s in really bad shape,” UFC president Dana White stated after UFC 105 last Saturday. ”He is not well and he is not getting any better. He’s very, very sick and he’s going to be out for a while. He’s got a lot of problems.”

It was reported that Brock Lesnar had contracted mononucleosis, forcing him to pull out of training in preparation for Shane Carwin. But Dana White claims mononucleosis isn’t the only thing Lesnar is dealing with these days. White claims Lesnar is dealing with something worse and the UFC heavyweight champion doesn’t want White to let it out in public, YET.

”He doesn’t have cancer or AIDS or anything like this, (but) he’s got some problems, man. He’s not going to be getting well any time soon,” White said.

”I am worried about it,” White admitted. ”You know, I can’t really talk about it right now, but he’s in rough shape. He’s in really bad shape and we’re going to have to do some stuff to take care of this guy. He is not well and he’s not getting any better.”

”We’re going to have to send him to the Mayo Clinic or to Scripps, or one of those really good hospitals to figure out what’s wrong with this guy.”

White already noted that Lesnar’s condition is very very serious, even career ending.

”There’s a possibility Lesnar will never fight again.”

White hopes Forrest Griffin and Tito Ortiz would be able to save UFC 106 this Saturday. Initially scheduled as an undercard fight, Forrest Griffin – Tito Ortiz II will now headline the event after Lesnar pulled out because of the injury.
