Will LeBron James really play for the Knicks?
February 11, 2009

Yes, we know that the summer of 2010 is still a long way from now.
But since people from Ohio just can’t stop talking about the possibility of losing arguably one of the best players in the game today this 2009 NBA basketball season, we’re going to take note ALL of the guy’s possible destinations if ever he decides to leave Cleveland to Z again.
In case you didn’t know, LeBron James will be an unrestricted free agent in 2010, thus creating all these rumors about James playing for some other team than the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Let’s face it, LeBron James, right now, can win wherever he goes. The Cleveland Cavaliers, on the other hand, can’t win shit without No.23. You can bet your ass people from Cleveland are worried and watching teams clear up some salary cap space this year to make room for a superstar like (yes, LeBron…) isn’t putting the minds of these fans at ease either.
So where can he possibly go if he leaves Cleveland? Let’s start with the obvious one. New York.
The possibility of James signing with the New York Knicks isn’t that far-fetched as you might think. The opportunity of playing in the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, should be enough to lure LeBron to the Knicks. Not to mention the millions of dollars those New Yorkers will be more than willing to pay him just to have him wear their uniform.
Next, we have the New Jersey Nets. His ‘’friendship’’ with hip-hop mogul and Nets co-owner Jay-Z can very well play a huge role on this one. If he decides to choose the Nets, he’ll be teaming up with up-and-coming superstar Devin Harris, quality players like Brook Lopez and stalwart Vince Carter, making them instant favorites to win as many world titles they want.
Jay-Z is a businessman and he knows signing LeBron James is good business.
Last but certainly not the least, we have the Detroit Pistons. This team, thanks to their general manager Joe Dumars, have been making headlines after trading their leader Chauncey Billups and acquiring the services of Allen Iverson, whose contract expires after this season. Landing LBJ in Mo Town would be a perfect fit. They can trade Allen Iverson to Cleveland, clear some salary cap and still have a deep team.
Hell, they’d probably trade Iverson anyway with or without the intention of signing James.
Will LeBron James stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers? Which team will he be playing for in 2010? SportsBetting.com has the odds.
New York Knicks 17-10
New Jersey Nets 7-2
Detroit Pistons 11-2
