If you’re a Cowboys fan, you’re probably starting to get worried at this time of the year.

Because it’s December and as we all know, Tony Romo struggles during the Holiday season. And since they dropped their first game of the month last Sunday, losing to the Giants 31-24, it certainly looks like the Cowboys’ issues in December is starting all over again this 2009 NFL football season.

The Dallas Cowboys now have the San Diego Chargers next, arguably the hottest team in the league right now. And for all ya’ll Cowboys fans waiting for Tony Romo and company to finish the season strong for a change, the turning point (if there ever will be one…) won’t be in this game with the Chargers.

The San Diego Chargers, after all their issues to start the season, have pulled it together and have once again found themselves lording over the AFC West. These guys have won seven straight games. SEVEN. And the only ones that did better are the two teams that have yet to taste defeat this season, the Colts and the Saints.

LaDainian Tomlinson is back to his old self too to compliment Philip Rivers in the passing game. The Chargers are so well built together that teams won’t be too happy playing them come playoff time.

The Dallas Cowboys, on the other hand, need to play and beat these guys just to have some playoff time.

Dallas, tied for the NFC East lead at 8-4, needs to put an end to their December woes quickly after kicking off the month with a 31-24 loss to the Giants. The ‘Boys issues in December began as far back as 1996, the last year the Cowboys won a playoff game. The Cowboys went 19-32 in December ever since. They are 5-10 in December since 2006.

To make matters worse, Dallas has a rigorous four-game stretch to end the season. If the Cowboys are to make the playoffs, they are going to have to find a way to reverse their December fortunes.

”Until we win, I know we’re going to hear about (December),” Cowboys linebacker Bradie James said.

”No matter how bad it can be, we’ve got to figure out a way to win. We’ve got to fix the mistakes, and we had a couple of them. We still have four games, and guys will respond.”

”We just have to stay together.”
