Dallas Cowboys not ready for the 2009 NFL Season?
September 4, 2009

They have problems, and I’m not even referring to their lack of an outside threat with T.O. now in Buffalo.
Ah yes, the Dallas Cowboys are once again in a heap of trouble just like last year, the year before that and the year before that year. Hell, they’ve been in trouble since the end of 1996 for crying out loud. The sad part is, they’re already in trouble this early when the 2009 NFL football season hasn’t even started yet. Yikes.
In case you didn’t know, the Dallas Cowboys lost Roy Williams to a left shoulder injury just a few days ago, putting him out for the rest of the preseason.
You see, Roy Williams was suppose to be the guy who’ll replace T.O. as Tony Romo’s new target. With this setback, the Cowboys don’t even know if Roy can make it back in time for the start of the regular season and jump start this Romo – Williams tandem the Cowboys are trying to establish.
Yeah sure, we’ll probably see Tony Romo throw footballs to Jason Witten’s direction anyway since the Cowboys frontline can’t protect Romo long enough to let their quarterback find holes ten yards away from the line of scrimmage. But with Williams out, that’s one less option for Romo to throw the football to. And since there’s a scarcity of good receivers in Dallas these days, that’s not something you want to have with only a few more days left before the regular season begins.
To make matters worse for the Cowboys is the fact that Williams’ injury is just one of the problems they have to resolve before the season starts. You see, their new no.1 receiver is having problems with a teammate lately, Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick to be specific. And in case you’re wondering, Scandrick was the moron who injured Williams’ left shoulder in a goal line collision.
You see, Scandrick has to work harder than usual in practice since he’s competing for the starting CB spot with teammate Mike Jenkins. The problem with this is the fact that Scandrick is desperate to land the starting job, to the extent that he’s stopping at nothing to win it.
Apparently, Scandrick and Williams just keep getting tangled up in these workouts because of Scandrick’s primal desire to be a starter. Hell, there was this one time when he hit Williams so hard that the receiver’s helmet was knocked off his head. There was this other incident when Scandrick hit Williams viciously that the receiver landed hard and sprained his wrist.
Jeez, somebody tell Scandrick that he and Williams are still on the same team. Please.
