Dwyane Wade leading in the votes for NBA Season MVP
March 13, 2009

Dwyane Wade sure is gettingĀ on the radar of NBA Basketball analysts recently. With his dramatic game winner against the Chicago Bulls (which I still believe was the wrong decision backed up by an enormous stroke of luck), Dwyane Wade is starting to climb up on the NBA MVP ladder.
Many had only two players to be viable candidates for the NBA Regular Season MVP mid way through this year. LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers lead the pack of young hopefuls.
What plenty of NBA Basketball critics do not take note of is that the NBA Regular Season MVP should have atleast the top spot in their respective NBA Conferences or at best the entire NBA Standings. This 2008 – 2009 NBA Regular Season could have an exception though, not for Dwyane Wade.
LeBron James and Dwyane Wade both have an almost similar roster on hand and are both doing phenomenal work for their teams. The only problem is that LeBron James does not have the likes of Jermain O’Neal who happens to be a former NBA All Star. Sure thing LeBron James has Maurice Williams on board but the lack of a self imposing big man is far greater of a mountain to climb.
Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers has a great team, great coach and one of the leagues deepest rosters. In my opinion, LeBron James should have this year’s NBA Regular Season MVP award over Kobe Bryant and more so over Dwyane Wade for single handedly leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to the top spot in the NBA Easter Conference ranks.
It would be a close call I guess, but if ever Kobe Bryant manages to get the award then all is good especially with the way he has grown as a player. Kobe Bryant was tagged early on in his career as a ball hog and a self centred individual. However with the fatherly guidance of on of the greatest NBA coaches of all time, Phil Jackson, he has grown on and of the court and has emerged as one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball.
