Floyd Mayweather Jr. is coming out of retirement
March 18, 2009

Floyd Mayweather Jr. could make his comeback announcement anytime within this week. The former pound for pound boxing champion has been secretly going through some training sessions prior to the Manny Pacquiao win over Oscar De La Hoya last December.
With numerous news around the boxing world that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has yet to test his skills that have remained stagnant for almost 16 months and counting, the former pound for pound champion looks to find an easy opponent for him as soon as he announces his comeback.
Names of different members of the boxing pound for pound list have come up to our interest. Some say that Sugar Shane Mosley posses the biggest problem for the semi-retired boxing great. The combination of power and speed with the exceptional experience that Sugar Shane Mosley has marks a massive threat to Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Others say that Miguel Cotto could also be a possible fight for Floyd Mayweather Jr. while Manny Pacquiao could be the target of Floyd Mayweather Jr., we can all atleast say that this year would prove to be one of the most needed years in the sport of boxing. Miguel Cotto has the style that would just make Floyd Mayweather Jr. look fantastic. The always moving forward type of offense mixed with normal foot speed makes this fight a dream match for Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Another name that has come up is Juan Manuel Marquez. The second in rank to the current pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao. Many believe that Juan Manuel Marquez defeated Manny Pacquiao in their second boxing match. The last great hope of the Mexican Boxing scene would also prove to be another good match for Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Juan Manuel Marquez does not have the aggressiveness of Manny Pacquiao nor the speed and power of Sugar Shane Mosley. What Juan Manuel Marquez has is the ability to adapt to the situation and still retain his counter punching style without the compromise of a possible knockout punch from the opposition. Almost the same as the style of Floyd Mayweather Jr.
