Lamar Odom could be traded for another NBA Big Man
February 9, 2009
According to some sources in Sacramento, California early within the week is that the Sacramento Kings are willing to trade center Brad Miller to the Los Angeles Lakers for Small Forward Lamar Odom. The story was very convincing especially the fact that the Los Angeles Lakers need a backup Center that would fill the void that Andrew Bynum left wide open for every NBA Team to exploit. Not only does this trade benefit the Los Angeles Lakers but the Sacramento Kings as well, with the addition of Lamar Odom to their roster this would give the Sacramento Kings a chance to acquire an expiring contract the would get them started for their 2009 – 2010 rebuilding phase.
The Los Angeles Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak has then set the story straight. Mitch Kupchak said that the Los Angeles Lakers would settle and further develop the team with the available players on their more than capable roster and hope that Andrew Bynum recuperates faster than expected.
Lamar Odom has played for the Los Angeles Clippers, the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers where he has developed surprisingly well with them. Lamar Odom then said he hopes Mitch Kupchak does not trade him to the Sacramento Kings or any other NBA team for that matter.
“I hope not,” Lamar Odom said. “I want to be a Laker for the rest of my life. I’m a rock star. I can’t help it. Some people want me to go, some people want me to stay. I want to stay. I love L.A. I’m done moving around. I’ve been in L.A. since 1999. Why would I want to go anywhere else? And I want to win the big one. Why not? You’re playing, you might as well want to win, right? I’ve lost plenty. It’s time to win. Then I’ll sail off to the sunset one day on my white horse.” Lamar Odom laughingly added.
For all we know Lamar Odom can still be on the trading block which could be dependent on how fast the recovery of Andrew Bynum is. However on the betting side of everything, the Los Angeles Lakers are good bets against the spread as they also have defeated the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers on their home court.
