You can almost feel the intensity of the 2009 MLB World Series as the ALCS and the NLCS have finally decided which two teams will come out to play for the world championship.
In the ALCS, the New York Yankees looked to return back to the big dance as they went up against the Los Angeles Angels, a team looking to get at least one team from Hollywood in the World Series.
In the NLCS, the Philadelphia Phillies were looking to return to the World Series and defend the world title they won last year after dominating the Tampa Bay Rays in five games. They went up against the Los Angeles Dodgers, a team looking to give Joe Torre his first world championship ring since moving to Hollywood.
And in case you missed it, both the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies eliminated Tinseltown to play for this year’s world championship. Who will take it?

Can the Phillies become the first team to win back to back World Series since the 1999-2000 Yankees? This would be an intriguing match up as former Indians aces collide with Philadelphia’s Cliff Lee and New York’s CC Sabathia. It could also result in Pedro Martinez taking the new Yankee Stadium mound for the first time in the postseason since his Red Sox shocked the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS.
