Will the Houston Rockets trade Tracy McGrady?

Probably, because T-Mac might be on Houston’s trading block since they’re probably sick of his story already.

And in case you have no idea what that story is, it’s T-Mac getting in and out of the Rockets injury list the last few years of his aging career. And as far as the 2008-09 NBA basketball season is concerned, it’s the same old plot.

Is Tracy McGrady still a legitimate superstar in the NBA? Some will probably say yes, but as his game continues to decline with all the injuries his ass has been seeing, it’s only a matter of time before the Houston Rockets let him go.

Before the start of the season, the Houston Rockets were among the Western Conference favorites to win it all with the acquisition of hard-nosed defender Ron Artest. The Rockets had their own version of the ‘Big Three’ with Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady and Ron Artest.

Unfortunately, Tracy McGrady has only appeared in 28 injury-riddled games. McGrady, who has a 15.4 per game scoring average (his lowest since the 1999-2000 season), 4.6 rebounds and five assists, ALMOST got the nod to play as a starter in the 2009 NBA All-Star Game in Phoenix.

I still have no idea what NBA fans who voted for him were thinking. If he continues to be sidelined and the Houston Rockets can’t make it out of the first round again this season, you have to think McGrady’s name will start to surface in trade rumors either this season or the next.

After all, Yao Ming has already proven he can win games for the Rockets by his lonesome anyway. Making over $21 million this season and $23 million in 2009, T-Mac could be a great bargaining chip for teams looking to get under the cap in the summer of 2010.

Yes, the end of the T-Mac era in Houston is about to come to an end and we won’t be surprised when it does.
