The New Jersey Nets and the Houston Rockets have already talked and submitted trade proposals with could be one of the biggest trades before the NBA deadline if the Amare Stoudemire fish bait does not have any takers. One of the details would involve Vince Carter and Josh Boone in exchange with the Houston Rockets for Ron Artest, Carl Landry and Luther Head.

However the quest for the erratic show boater in Vince Carter is also being contested from another team in the NBA Western Conference. The San Antonio Spurs reportedly would send Roger Mason Jr., George Hill and Bruce Bowen in exchange for Vince Carter. What would hurt the New Jersey Nets is that they would need to make room for the additional players they would be acquiring if ever this trade goes through. With the trade deadline nearing, the Houston Rockets and the San Antonio Spurs are expected to give in since both teams need to bolster their NBA playoff bids.

“It’s one of those things you can’t control,” Vince Carter said. “They know how I feel about being here, how I’m happy here, the whole nine yards. If it happens it happens. I do my job regardless.”

Vince Carter who was missing in another NBA All Star Game was next to Amare Stoudemire in the trade talks of most of the teams that aim to rebuild or are in need of additional firepower. Another team that had some interest was the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Imagine what LeBron James and Vince Carter would do in a serious NBA playoff bid to return to the NBA Finals. The sheer amount of talent that LeBron James has its boundaries as seen in the past against the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James clearly needed help against Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers, with the arrival of Vince Carter with the Cleveland Cavaliers things would be sure to change as long as Vince Carter learns his role.

General Manager of the New Jersey Nets Kiki Vandeweghe already talked to Vince Carter on the trade discussions and clearly said that there could be a possibility of the talks to happen within the week. The New Jersey Nets are not in the best financial state and Vince Carter has a guaranteed salary of $33.6 million for the next two NBA seasons with a $4.5 million partial guarantee for the 2010 – 2011 NBA Regular Season.
