Who’s your MVP? Kobe Bryant or LeBron James?

You almost expected this one coming with round one between the two now complete.

As far as I’m concerned, LeBron James should be the MVP. (Unfortunately, NONE from the Pistons lineup merits an argument this season…) He has carried the Cleveland Cavaliers to become a contender this year and with players being sidelined like Delonte West, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Ben Wallace, their team’s record doesn’t show these key players’ absence at all.

With LeBron leading LeBron James vs Kobe Bryantthe way, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still the ONLY team yet to be defeated on their own floor. Though they lost the game against a very talented Los Angeles Lakers team, LeBron has the Cavs playing outstanding basketball. In fact, Cleveland may currently be the best offensive and best defensive team in the league right now and they have No.23 to thank for that. LeBron is doing it on both ends of the court and he’s elevated his game to an amazingly high level.

For Kobe Bryant, last year’s NBA MVP, it doesn’t appear that he has much of a chance to win the award back-to-back. Since the Lakers are so talented this season, Bryant doesn’t have to do as much. Thus, his numbers are down. But don’t be mistaken, he’s still a great player.

For him to win the MVP, he must increase his scoring, minutes played and assists while leading the Los Angeles Lakers to the best record in the NBA at the end of the season, probably a 65 -68 winning year.

Unfortunately for Kobe fans, No.24 is now more concerned of team achievements. And with the way the Western Conference is shaping up right now, winning the NBA title for the first time without Shaquille O’Neal is becoming more of a possibility.

LeBron can have the MVP title as long as Kobe gets the title that matters, Larry O’Brien’s hardware.
